This issue of Shark Info informs people about the
relationship between humans and sharks and on the latest concepts and findings. By nature
sharks are not dangerous or aggressive - and yet this is how the media visualizes and
presents them. What do sharks experience when encountering man? How are such
encounters reflected in their body language? How should we interpret these movements
and how do we react to them? These are only a few of the many questions which will be
discussed in this and subsequent issues of Shark Info. Fear of sharks is a phenomenon which is
present with most humans and it will need a great deal of clarification work to eliminate it.
The purpose of this series is to help uncover the true facts.
