The fins of a white shark cutting through the water - an image we all know and fear. But in effect, the shark is only showing curiosity.

The familiar image of a shark circling a swimmer or diver appears to have burned its way into many minds as being the foreboder of an attack. But does this famous scenario of a shark's dorsal fin cutting circles through the water really mean an impending attack? Fact or simply prejudice?
